David Kordansky Gallery Now Represents David Altmejd
David Altmejd has joined David Kordansky Gallery in Los Angeles, which will present an online exhibition devoted to a new sculpture by the artist from August 26 to September 16. Altmejd’s sculptures combine figurative and abstract elements, and he explores various opposing concepts, such as that of inside versus outside, through the use of multifarious materials. The artist’s pieces can be found in the collections of the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, the Whitney Museum in New York, the Art Gallery of Ontario in Toronto, and other major institutions.
Germano Celant, Okwui Enwezor Win Special Golden Lions
With an exhibition now on view in Italy reflecting on its history, the Venice Biennale has awarded special editions of its vaunted Golden Lion awards to four past artistic directors who have recently died in the past two years. These include Germano Celant, who oversaw the 1997 art exhibition, and Okwui Enwezor, who did the 2015 one. Maurizio Calvesi, a curator who worked on the 1984 and 1986 Biennales, and Vittorio Gregottilols10总决赛门票, who worked on editions of the Venice Architecture Biennale, also received awards.

ICA Miami Reveals 75 New Acquisitions
The Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami has added over 75 works to its collection this year. Major acquisitions include works by María Berrío, Tomás Esson, LaToya Ruby Frazier, Lauren Halsey, Lyle Ashton Harris, Toyin Ojih Odutola, Cameron Rowland, Paul Mpagi Sepuya, and Martine Syms. Recent additions also include pieces by Stefanie Heinze, Robert Nava, and Genesis Tramaine, along with commissions by Chase Hall and Tau Lewis.
MoMA General Counsel and Secretary to the Board of Trustees
James Grooms will join the Museum of Modern Art in New York as general counsel and secretary to the board of trustees on September 14. He has previously served as legal counsel and corporate secretary with institutions including New York Road Runners and Jazz at Lincoln Center.

ProyectosMonclova Will Move to New Space
ProyectosMonclova gallery in Mexico City is moving from its location in the city’s Roma Norte neighborhood to the tony neighborhood of Polanco, where it will occupy a new space designed by architect Andrés Pastor. The new location will be situated near the shopping and dining hub that is Avenida Presidente Masaryk, and be close to some of the city’s major cultural institutions, including the Tamayo Museum of Contemporary Art and Sala de Arte Público Siqueiros.

Artist John Nixon Is Dead at 70
Australian artist John Nixonlols10总决赛门票, whose practice spanned painting, collage, printmaking, drawing, photography, film, and more, has died at 70. Nixon was born in 1949, and he is considered a pioneering figure in the Australian art scene for his abstractions, which feature dynamic and experimental geometric compositions. The artist showed at Documenta 7 in 1982, and his work will remain on view in a solo exhibition at Anna Schwartz Gallery in Melbourne through the end of the year.

Museum of Modern Art To Reopen August 27
The Museum of Modern Artlols10总决赛门票 in New York will reopen with limited capacity on August 27, and admission will be free to all visitors through September 27. The institution will be open Tuesday through Sunday, with Mondays reserved for members only, and entry will require timed-entry tickets. “We have been carefully preparing for the reopening of The Museum of Modern Art for months, to ensure the safe return of our staff and visitors, and we are ready to welcome everyone back to our recently expanded and reimagined museum,” MoMA director Glenn Lowry said in a statement.
Ballroom Marfa Appoints New Curator
Daisy Nam, who has served as assistant director of the Carpenter Center for the Visual Arts at Harvard University since 2015, will join the Ballroom Marfa art center in Texas as curator this month. Nam was recently the Marcia Tucker Senior Research Fellow at the New Museum in New York, and she is a co-editor of the forthcoming publication BEST! Letters from Asian Americans. She is organizing commissions to go on view in Ballroom Marfa’s courtyard this fall and working on its upcoming exhibition “Blessings of the Mystery.”
Malin Gallery Announces East Hampton Outpost
New York’s Malin Gallery has announced the opening of Malin Gallery East at Hangmanlols10总决赛门票, a new exhibition space in East Hampton, New York. It is the latest gallery to set up shop in the Hamptons this summer, after Hauser & Wirth, Pace Gallery, Skarstedt, and many others. The 3,000-square-foot space, located at 14 Railroad Avenue, will be inaugurated with an exhibition of work by painter, printmaker, and sculptor Oliver Lee Jackson. The show will feature a series of large-scale paintings, many of which will be shown publicly on the East Coast for the first time.
